Continuing my Backpack through the Marble Mountains on the Pacific Crest Trail from Etna to Seiad Valley. So many tree falls(counted over 200!) Fantastic rock outcrops, flower fields, and vast vistas.
@Home Free Sea Shanty played over and over in my head!
Castle Craigs to Etna in our 300 mile PCT section hike. Massive vistas, flowers and challenges like over 100 fallen trees, burn areas and long climbs kept us on our toes. Lots of mountain springs, lakes and streams to keep us hydrated; and to soak weary feet!

Etna proves its reputation for being hiker friendly with restaurants, breweries and bakeries. Don't miss the shakes at Dotty's!
Keeping your pack lightweight doesn't mean leaving essentials home. Here's the contents of my First Aid kit. Believe me, I've whittled it down considerably from when I first started backpacking. Remember - it is FIRST Aid. If anything more is required you need to improvise or hit the SOS!

My first backpacking experience in 2019 was 800 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail! As of June 2022, I've completed 1800 miles of the trail!

The second 50 miles in this 100-Mile SOBO section of the PCT from Trail Pass at mile 745 to Walker Pass at mile 651. And yes, unbeknownst to me I broke my toe with 30 miles to go! But we finished all smiles!

First 50 miles of 100-mile section of our PCT Journey, we hike SOBO from Trail Pass (mile 745) to Walker Pass. Neither one of us have (foolishly) trained to prepare for this.

Southern Sierra in June is lovely. The air is clear and bright. We met so many NOBO's!

Knee problem leads to a trip back home from the Continental Divide Trail.
After only 14 miles my sprained knee objects to hiking and sends me and Debbie back home to recuperate.

Getting to the southern terminus of the Continental Divide has its perks if you have a great shuttle driver.
CDT Here we come…Things are already happening. Should we duck for cover and run back home?
